How Much Super Do You Need to Retire Comfortably?
The Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA) retirement standard is a useful benchmark, but actual retirement income needs depend on housing, health, location, Age Pension eligibility, and desired lifestyle.
Australia's super system is one of the world's largest pension systems, holding over $3.5 trillion in assets. The compulsory Super Guarantee ensures most workers accumulate meaningful retirement savings. Voluntary concessional contributions (taxed at 15% in the fund) can significantly boost your balance, especially if your marginal tax rate is above 15%.
🔬 Methodology & Accuracy
