📐 Formula & Method

Wind Chill

WC = 35.74 + 0.6215T - 35.75V^0.16 + 0.4275TV^0.16

T is air temperature in deg F and V is wind speed in mph. Use only at T <= 50 deg F and V >= 3 mph.

Heat Index

HI = Rothfusz regression using T and relative humidity

Use only at T >= 80 deg F and relative humidity >= 40%. Values are shade-based apparent temperature estimates.
